Of Soft Incidents
Solo exhibition at Roha Gallery in London (July 2025)

Press release:
‘Ania Rekas traces how amorphous senses rooted in pre-verbal experience are archived through material form, gradually becoming her own icons (𝘪𝘬𝘰𝘯𝘢). Based on her childhood memories in Poland, her practice unfolds as a series of minor yet persistent gestures—each translating fluid impressions into solidified forms through layered printmaking and collage processes such as monotype, chine-collé, and glazing, rendering them as fragile yet singular incidents.

The exhibition is structured as a tetralogy, with each wall functioning as a sculptural chapter composed of its own emotional and temporal density. Following this sequence, the ungraspable returns—not to be held, but to endure quietly, as a gentle recurrence that gives presence to what was once lost.’ (Jeehee, Roha gallery)
