Ania Rekas was born and raised in Poland. She graduated from BA Fashion Print (2018) at Central Saint Martins and MA Print (2021) at Royal College of Art.

In her work, She paints imaginative places from childhood, including figures of herself and her family members. Recently, She focused on landscape, colour, and topics connected to her family. Through her practice, she wants to narrate and create her own icons: places, people, or objects. Ania experiments with monoprinting, ceramics and drawing on wood and canvas.

Her artworks present a selection of memories in the form of collaged landscapes. Some figures are blurry, but other ones are vivid, sharp, and strong. People, objects, and places exist in the abstract space or wander around the landscape without an exit point. The drawings reflect stages of life, changing moods and time. They are nostalgic reflections on good or bad periods built into the drawing process. She focuses on color and shapes to match the fast-passing or long-lasting mood.
